What is the MLT?
- An electrifying forum that challenges the minds of its riveted participants and advances them as future leaders in their respective communities
- Tolerance and respect - qualities essential to human development - are often lacking in both the Muslim and the greater Western community
- Constructive, open dialogue that engages diverse voices on major issues is an essential step towards the development of such values
What happened in Copenhagen?
On the one year anniversary of the London bombings, 120 young Muslim leaders from 17 Western nations, representing a wide variety of world views, ethnicities, and beliefs focused on the theme:
Muslim Integration in the West.
Why?
In this period of global turbulence, the MLT program recognizes the need to nurture a global Muslim leadership that
employs Islamic and pluralistic values to enhance peace and tolerance.
The MLT conference took a substantial first step toward
empowering a new generation of emerging Muslim leaders to become change agents in combating the 'clash of ignorance'.
