500 people attended the first annual Face to Face/Faith to Faith Peace Is Possible benefit event on Monday, November 5. Their hearts were warmed by the personal stories of conflict and hope shared by teens from South Africa, Northern Ireland and the Middle East. Katie Couric commented on the unmistakable reality “that religion – or more accurately, religious misunderstanding – plays in story after story” on the nightly news. She also presented awards on behalf of Face to Face to the Rev. Michael Lindvall of The Brick Church and Rabbi Peter Rubinstein of Central Synagogue.
Peter Kirkwood investigates the growth of interfaith communication in a time of deep transformation-a movement begun over 100 years ago but propelled to necessity by the tragic events of September 11.
Featuring Jewish Rabbi, Catholic Priest, Christian Theologian and ASMA Founders, Imam Feisal and Daisy Khan.

Lectures
Daisy Khan at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government
Cambridge, MA –Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government hosted the interactive lunch event “A Dialogue on Strengthening America: The Civic and Political Integration of Muslim America” which was
held on Wednesday, October 17. The event was co-sponsored by Kennedy School research centers, the Ash Institute for Democratic
Governance and Innovation, the Dubai Initiative, the Middle East Initiative and the Islam and the West program at Harvard. Daisy
Khan, and other session speakers, discussed the recommendations and findings made in the June 2007 independent task force report
“Strengthening America,” released by the Chicago Council of Global Affairs.
The “Strengthening America,” report is a nonpartisan assessment of the current Muslim
American experience and the relative silence of this population in today’s American dialogue on public policy and national
security issues. The report presents six recommendations for better engaging Muslim Americans and capitalizing on their potential
contributions to civic life and policy discourse.
