Tri-State Muslim Media in association with Message International and other Muslim organizations hosted an appreciation dinner in honor of Hassan Askari, the Muslim Subway Hero, on 4 January 2008.  Hassan, a Muslim New Yorker, came to the rescue of Walter Adler, a Brooklyn-based student, on a New York City subway.  ASMA along with a number of other Muslim organizations from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania honored Mr. Askari’s bravery and encouraged Muslim-Americans to embody the spirit of helping others.
