Jan.18 NYC - 'The Daily Show' Interviews Imam Feisal

Aasif Mandvi, a comedian and contributing correspondent on The Daily Show, interviewed Imam Feisal. Mandvi and the Imam entertain the idea of a "Muslim Cosby Show," a suggestion made by CBS anchor Katie Couric that recently made headlines. The Interview will air in February.

Op-Ed Training
August 13 - A group of 15 MLTs gathered at the ASMA headquarters to take part in the media training hosted by the Op-Ed Project. Attendees participated in an interactive full day seminar on effective op-ed writing, role-playing and realizing their full capacity as a recognizable voice in today’s world. Participants were also matched up with a private op-ed mentor upon completion of seminar.
MLT Brunch
November 14 - The New York City MLT group met up to share thoughts on current and future MLT projects. The main topics of discussion were based around Islamophobia and Park 51.

Leading scholars, human rights advocates and journalists shared their first-hand experiences as they addressed human rights challenges in the age of Obama and Netanyahu.
