Opening of new IMAX documentary
Journey to Mecca: In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta

The spectacular and award winning new IMAX documentary Journey to Mecca: In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta will be opening at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City on Saturday October 24th, 2009. Produced by SK Films, Cosmic Picture and National Geographic, Journey to Mecca tells the incredible story of the legendary Moroccan explorer Ibn Battuta, who left his home in 1325 to perform the Hajj, and went on to become one of the greatest travelers of all time.

Witness for the first time on the Giant Screen, the most remarkable gathering of people on Earth - the Hajj - as it appeared in the 14th century, and as it continues to this day. Filmed entirely in IMAX, narrated by Ben Kingsley, and containing more than 10 minutes of never-before-seen footage from inside the Grand Mosque in Mecca, the film offers a truly powerful and moving experience.
